Copeland, Jr. at Andrew Rankin Chapel on Friday, June 3, at 5:30 p.m. The event will include remarks from university and hospital leaders, musical selections and tributes from colleagues, students, and alumni. Dr. Copeland, as a leading ophthalmologist, consistently demonstrated devotion to medical education and public advocacy in three decades of service to Howard University.

The focus of the inaugural HU Move-Out Day is to collect new and gently used dorm room items from residents in Howard University residence halls and use them in more sustainable and responsible ways.

All items that are collected will be donated to cater to the needs of persons within our Howard University and local communities.

GRADUATING SENIORS will receive additional help from volunteers on Sunday, May 8, 2016. ALL VOLUNTEERS will be incentivized.

Memorial Service for Bodies Donated to HUCM for the Education of Health Professionals


College of Medicine, MUDD Building, Room 3019

The initial training of all students of medicine, dentistry, nursing, physician assistants, occupational therapy, physical therapy and other allied health disciplines involves learning anatomy from cadavers. All bodies that are used at HUCM are donated, and these very generous gifts provide the cornerstone on which our professional programs in the health sciences are built. The purpose of this service is to recognize, honor and respect the individuals and their families who have made this rich experience possible.
